Hi, I’m Matthew Eng, an independent filmmaker and digital media specialist shaped by both Scandinavian tradition and aesthetic taste and by the pioneering ethos of America. I craft digital media for mission-driven organizations and brands across Scandinavia and the U.S. to bring their stories to life.
My work blends Scandinavian taste and tradition with American narrative drive, producing stories that are human, grounded, and purposeful.
Exploring the vastness of America from coast to coast, a country marked by beauty, contradiction, innovation, and a constant struggle for identity led me to look deeper: into history, into the Christian faith, and across the Atlantic back toward the places my ancestors left in search of new lands.
Traveling through Scandinavia, I found more than landscapes and family names. In places like the Fantoft Stave Church, in Bergen I found a profound sense of peace and spiritual clarity, a connection to spiritual instincts and our aesthetic languages, both ancient and new.
Since then I’ve returned to work with creatives, nonprofits, and faith-driven communities across the Nordic region and United States, helping them each share meaningful stories with beauty, emotional depth, and a principled narrative approach shaped by the Christian gospel, tradition, and philosophy.

In The Remnant: The Last Christians of Denmark, American filmmaker Matthew Eng set out to explore the lives, hopes and challenges of these traditional Christian families.”
A Legacy of Hope & Healing
Commissioned to mark a historic four-decade milestone, this documentary captures the enduring legacy of the Gift of Life Transplant House and the selfless vision of its founder, Ed Pompeian. The film explores Pompeian’s lifelong mission to build a sanctuary for transplant patients and caregivers navigating the most difficult seasons of their lives, a "home away from home". Following an exclusive theatrical premiere in Rochester of the 50 minute film, this shorter cut was released online for free to raise additional support and present a deeply personal view of the organization's history for the next generation.
